Mackenzie Nunes

Mackenzie Nunes joined the University of Virginia Athletics Department in June 2021 and currently serves as Assistant Director of Academic Services. In her current role, she oversees and monitors the academic progress of volleyball, wrestling, and swimming. During her time at UVA, Mackenzie previously served as an academic coordinator on staff providing academic support to student-athletes across a range of programs, including football, women’s golf, men’s golf, and softball.
A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Mackenzie earned her bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 2021, where she was a member of the Women’s Volleyball team. She went on to complete her Master of Education in Student Affairs Practices in Higher Education, with a concentration in Athletic Administration, from the UVA School of Education and Human Development in 2022. While pursuing her graduate studies, she also served as a graduate intern in the Academic Affairs office. Mackenzie is also an active member of the N4A and Women Leaders in Sports.
