Matthew Tipton
Matthew Tipton has been at Virginia since 2018, where he works as an associate athletic trainer with the wrestling team. Tipton is responsible for the overall daily health care of UVA student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for injuries and illnesses.Prior to coming to Virginia, Tipton spent six years at UT Chattanooga, working primarily with the wrestling team, but assisted with volleyball and coordinating all student-athlete drug testing.
Tipton received his bachelors degree in 2010 and masters degrees in 2011 in athletic training from Harding University. While at Harding, he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the men’s soccer team.After graduating, Tipton spent a year at Kansas as an intern athletic trainer with the football team for one year. Tipton is a member of NATA.
