Nelson Wooten joined Virginia Sports Properties in 2021 and currently serves as Senior Account Executive-Sales. Prior to his role in Corporate Sponsorships at UVA, he served as PGA First Assistant Golf Professional at Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet, VA.
In 2025 Nelson negotiated the first ever corporate sponsor logo to appear on David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.
Nelson earned a B.S. in Marketing from Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach S.C. with a specialization in Professional Golf Management.
Nelson and his wife Taylor, along with their two Goldendoodles Cooper & Sully, reside in nearby Nelson County.
