Owen Baum joined the Virginia athletics program in August of 2026 as a seasonal certified athletic trainer. Baum works with the Cavalier baseball program.
Baum earned his bachelor’s degree in allied health sciences in 2025 and master’s degree in athletic training in 2026 from Plymouth State University. While in the graduate program at Plymouth State, Baum worked with football, track, cross country, men’s basketball and women’s soccer.
In his final semester at Plymouth State, Baum completed his clinical immersion internship at the University of Maryland, where he worked with their baseball team. He holds a certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
