Ross Ferrell

Ferrell first joined the Virginia football staff in in May of 2022 as a Football Sports Dietitian Fellow before being elevated to assistant director of football Nutrition prior to the 2024 season.
A native of England, Ferrell provides comprehensive food and nutrition support to the football program, including those with at-risk behaviors, has oversight of the various fueling stations within the Hardie Football Operations Center and manages the program’s football sports nutrition seasonal dietitians and student interns.
Prior to Virginia, Ferrell held positions with Perform Nutrition as a Sports Dietitian (2021-22), Morehen Performance, as a sports nutrition content creator (2021-22), Wasps Rugby ACE City of Oxford College (2021-22) as a sports dietitian and Oxford Brooks University (2021) as a sports nutrition peer assistant learning leader
Ferrell is a certified SENR Registered Sport and Exercise Nutritionist through the British Dietetic Association (BDA). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Ethics, Value and Philosophy from the University of Reading in 2019. He owns a Master’s degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Oxford Brookes University.
