Sam Woodward joined the Virginia Athletics Foundation in October 2023. He is responsible for securing leadership annual gifts and major gifts to support Virginia Athletics. Sam works directly with members of the annual giving team, and he’s the VAF liaison for the Virginia Softball program.
Prior to arriving in Charlottesville, Sam spent over two years working in Ticket Sales for SMU Athletics, most recently serving as the Premium Sales Manager. At SMU, Sam strengthened relationships with university stakeholders and helped implement strategies that drove revenue growth. Before his time at SMU, Sam got his start in the college athletics industry at the University of Oregon by working in the Athletic Ticket Office.
Sam is a proud graduate of SMU and enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, rooting for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, and spending time with his family.
