Position
Travis Reifsnider - Baseball - Virginia Cavaliers

Travis Reifsnider joined the Virginia baseball staff as the program’s director of player development and scouting in the fall of 2024 after spending a season at Monmouth as an assistant coach.

In his lone season at Monmouth, Reifsnider coached the Hawks’ offense and catchers. Under his tutelage, the Hawks offense collected 114 extra-base hits, stole 54 bases and hit .265 as a team in 2024. Defensively, Monmouth threw out 51 potential base runners in 2024, an 82% increase over 2023.

No stranger to the UVA baseball program, Reifsnider appeared in 20 games as a graduate student for the Cavaliers during the 2023 campaign. He made an immediate impact in the UVA clubhouse as he won the program’s Teammate of the Year award as part of the Hoos Choice Awards.

Before arriving in Charlottesville, Reifsnider played 99 games throughout four seasons for James Madison. He batted .290 with 15 doubles, a triple, 16 home runs and 56 RBI during his JMU career.

He enjoyed a breakout senior campaign where he earned First Team All-CAA honors as a utility player after splitting time in the outfield, behind home plate and as a designated hitter. During the 2022 season, Reifsnider started 40 of the 43 games he played in and hit .303 with nine doubles, a triple, 13 home runs and 37 RBI. The 13 homers were the most in a single season by a JMU hitter since 2011.

The Richmond, Va. native graduated from James Madison with a degree in sport and recreation management.
