Recap | Final Stats

Opening Statement
It was a hard-fought game, but West Virginia really took it at us. We made a big run to [almost] tie it back up, but they made a big run and ran away with it.

On whether the layups by WVU’s Asya Bussie put the game out of reach
I think it started with some missed free throws. We are normally a pretty good free throw shooting team. I think that kind of started it. We ran back down and kind of put our heads down and they did what they do well, going to Bussie. We were in foul trouble and had to play small for much of the game, which wasn’t conducive. I think her touches were too easy.

On the three-point shooting
Franklin was really knocking them down for us. She took what they gave her. I think she and Kelsey Wolfe were the two people on the team who really took what came to them. Everyone else was rushing shots and throwing bad shots up which created a lot of their transition points.

On whether Virginia needed to capitalize more on Bussie sitting out 18 minutes in the first half
Our big post sat out the same amount, so they countered each other.
