Virginia Game Notes
Team Notes
• Virginia (1-1) is now 0-1 all-time against Oregon.
• The Cavaliers are 2-18-1 all-time vs. top-five programs.
• Oregon’s 59 points are the most allowed by Virginia since Illinois’ 63 in the 1999 Micronpc.com Bowl. The 59 points are the sixth-most allowed by Virginia in school history.
• Virginia was held scoreless in the second half for the first time since vs. Duke in 2012.

• Mark Hall (LB), Greyson Lambert (QB), Kye Morgan (TB) and Tim Harris** (CB) made their collegiate debuts: ** – denotes true freshman.
• Oregon’s Marcus Mariota’s 71-yard rushing touchdown was the longest vs. Virginia since Georgia Tech’s Orwin Smith’s 77-yarder on Sept. 15, 2012.
• Oregon’s Dior Mathis’ 97-yard interception return was the second longest against UVa in school history.
• Mariota’s 122 rushing yards were the sixth-most allowed by Virginia for an opposing quarterback in school history.
• Virginia allowed a pair of 100-yard rushers (Mariota and De’Anthony Thomas) for the 25th time in school history and first time since Georgia Tech (Johnathan Dwyer and Anthony Allen) in 2009.
• Thomas’ three rushing touchdowns were the most against Virginia since Virginia Tech’s Ryan Williams had four in 2009.
• Josh Huff’s punt block in the first quarter was the first against Virginia since Auburn’s Angelo Blackson in 2011.
Player Notes
• David Watford made his second career start and had a career bests in completions (29), attempts (41) and yards (161).
• Watford tied his a career-high with three interceptions.
• Brent Urban’s blocked extra-point attempt was Virginia’s first since Henry Coley vs. Penn State in 2012.
• Khalek Shepherd’s 45-yard rushing touchdown marked the longest run of his career. His previous long rush was 26 yards at NC State in 2012.
• Jake McGee had a career-best eight receptions for a team-leading 53 yards.
• McGee has caught a pass in five straight games.
• Zachary Swanson had a career-best four receptions.
• Dominique Terrell has caught a pass in 16 consecutive games.
• Darius Jennings has caught a pass in 15 consecutive games.
Oregon Postgame Notebook
• Oregon has now won 16 non-neutral site away games in a row. Alabama and Northern Illinois rank second nationally at nine.
• SO QB Marcus Mariota became the first UO quarterback to rush for 100 or more yards in back to back games. He finished with 122 yards on four carries, including a UO season-long 71-yd TD run.
• Mariota has now tossed a TD pass in 15 straight games, the third-longest active streak in the country behind Fresno State’s Derek Carr (22) and Marshall’s Rakeem Cato (19).
• JR CB Dior Mathis had the longest non-touchdown interception return in school history at 97 yards. He tied Kenny Wheaton (vs. UW in 1994) and Kenny Bryant (at TCU in 1977) for the second-longest overall.
• JR RB De’Anthony Thomas tied a career-best with three touchdowns, all rushing. He eclipsed 100 yards on the ground (11-124) for the second straight week and fifth time as a Duck.
• True freshman RB Thomas Tyner ran for a 3-yd touchdown on his first play as a collegian. Tyner added a 31-yd score on UO’s next offensive series and finished his debut with four carries for 51 ids.
• FR LB Tyrell Robinson and Tyner became the fifth and sixth true freshmen to see action for the Ducks in 2013.
• The interception by JR LB Rodney Hardrick was the first of his career.
• The Ducks were 0-2 on 4th down after going 1-3 last week.
• Through two games, UO has amassed 850 rushing yards.
• Oregon’s 11 penalties for 119 yards was the most since 11 for 105 at Cal last season.
• UO improved to 1-2 all-time vs. the ACC. Saturday’s game was the first vs. an ACC opponent in the regular season.
