Virginia Team Notes
• The Cavaliers recorded their first win over a top-25 opponent since defeating No. 23 Florida State, 14-13, on Nov. 19, 2011
• Virginia also recorded its first win at home over a top-25 opponent since defeating No. 12 Georgia Tech, 24-21, on Oct. 15, 2011
• Virginia limited Louisville to seven first-half points, marking the Cardinals’ lowest scoring opening half since tallying three first-half points at Rutgers on Nov. 29, 2012
• UVa has 13 takeaways this season for 44 points, while the Cavaliers had 21 takeaways for 13 points last season
• Virginia’s 13 takeaways are its most through the first three games of a season since 13 to start the 2002 campaign
• UVa’s 11 pass break-ups were its most since 11 vs. BYU in last season’s opener
• Virginia is now 1-6 when facing a new ACC member for the first time in conference play, dating back to when Georgia Tech joined the ACC in 1979

• Ian Frye kicked his first career game-winning field goal (42 yards) and UVa’s first game-winning kick since Robert Randolph’s 23-yarder at Indiana on Sept. 10, 2011
• Greyson Lambert made his third straight collegiate start and went 13-for-24 with a career-high 162 yards, one touchdown and his first career rushing touchdown
• On the season, Lambert is 20-of-29 for 188 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions and 13 first-down conversions on third down
• Lambert had a career-long 50-yard pass completion to Miles Gooch on the Cavaliers’ opening drive
• Matt Johns saw action at quarterback for the third straight week and went 3-for-6 for nine yards and one interception
• Miles Gooch set career highs in receptions (4) and yards (78), matched a career-best with a receiving touchdown, and added a career-best 50-yard reception
• Kevin Parks led UVa with 66 rushing yards on 22 attempts
• Parks extended his reception streak to 14 games
• Taquan Mizzell extended his reception streak to 12 games
• Darius Jennings extended his reception streak to eight games
• Canaan Severin and Doni Dowling extended their reception streaks to three games
• Sadiq Olanrewaju (LT) and Connor Wingo-Reeves (FB) made their first career starts
• Olanrewaju made his season debut after missing the first two games due to injury
Virginia Defensive Player Notes
• Quin Blanding matched a season high with a team-high nine tackles
• Anthony Harris had his 10th career interception and now ranks tied for 16th on UVa’s all-time interception list with 10 career INTs
• Henry Coley had seven tackles, two tackles for loss one sack and one pass break-up
• Mike Moore had his second career fumble recovery
• Maurice Canady had his third career interception
• Max Valles had a career-high four pass break-ups
• Eli Harold had two sacks and ranks 15th on Virginia’s all-time list with 13.5 career sacks
Louisville Game Notes
– Game captains for the Cardinals: Lorenzo Mauldin, Jake Smith, Sheldon Rankins, Will Gardner.
– First meeting between the two schools since 1989, with the Cavaliers taking a 2-1 series advantage with the win.
– The Cardinals had their eight-game winning streak snapped, which was the second-longest in the nation.
– The loss snapped a six-game Louisville winning streak on the road and was the first loss for the Cardinals since Nov. 10, 2012 after a falling 46-25 to Syracuse.
– WR Michaelee Harris made his first start at wide receiver for the Cardinals.
– G John Miller and T Jamon Brown made their 22nd consecutive starts on the offensive line. LB James Burges and S Terell Floyd made their 19th straight starts on defense.
– Charles Standberry caught his second career touchdown pass on his just his third reception on the Cardinals’ opening drive.
– The Cardinals opened the game with a 9-play, 75-yard drive, capped by a 9-yard pass from Will Gardner to Charles Standberry. It was the first time the Cardinals scored on the opening drive of the season. They had gone 3-and-out in the first two games.
– DT Sheldon Rankins recovered his first career fumble on a backwards pass in the first quarter.
– James Quick totaled a career-high five catches for 34 yards. Quick caught a 4-yard touchdown pass with 6:59 to play to put Cardinals ahead 21-20. It was his first career receiving touchdown.
– S Gerod Holliman recorded his team-leading third interception of the season and third of his career after recording two interceptions in the game. Holliman is the first Cardinal to record a pair of picks since Terell Floyd had two last year in a 31-10 win over Connecticut.

– Linebacker Keith Kelsey totaled a career-best 11 tackles with a sack and pass breakup.
– The Cardinals’ defense limited Virginia to 285 yards, holding their opponent below 300 yards of offense in all three games this season.
