Head Coach Joanne Boyle
On getting the win at home:
“I feel like we came out really focused and ready our last two games. That didn’t happen so much today, but I was proud of how they came back in the third quarter and we played a much better second half.”

On being tied at one point and then the 32-8 run:
“I think it’s really about challenging them. This was not the team that showed up the past couple of games and I thought we were flat and complacent. No team in the ACC is ever going to hand over a game, but we finally got some stops and finished. We started to hit some buckets and we stretched the lead a little bit.”

On Aliyah Huland El’s 13-point performance:
“When we have that balance in scoring it makes a big difference. Our posts weren’t scoring today so we ended up playing a lot of four-guard line-ups. We tried to take advantage of some of the mismatches there. She did a good job shooting the ball today. As a team, we have to do a better job of taking care of the ball, but I think that she came in and really contributed on the offensive end of the floor.”

On upcoming North Carolina game:
“We’ve always matched well with them. They’re a little bit down this year in terms of the number of people they play, but they are still very athletic, skilled and capable. It’s Faith’s senior night and I know everyone wants to send her out on a good note. It’s really going to be about starting prep tomorrow.”

Senior Guard Faith Randolph
On coming back after a few weeks of not playing:
“It feels good just to be out there again with my teammates. I did whatever I could to help get the win.”

On Senior Night:
“I’m excited. Thursday is an important game. A lot is on the line, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Sophomore Guard Mikayla Venson
On the team effort with four players in double digits:
“I think it’s always good to have a good amount of people scoring double digits. It opens the floor up, creates more assists for us and gives us more opportunities. It’s always good to move the ball around.”
