Team ACC Tournament Notes

  • Virginia advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament for the third straight year; it is the first time UVA has reached three straight semifinals since 1993-95
  • Virginia advances to play either No. 3 seed Miami or No. 6 seed Virginia Tech in the semifinals; UVA went 1-1 against both teams in the regular season
  • Virginia is 36-60 all-time in the ACC Tournament
  • The 20-point margin of victory is UVA’s largest in the ACC Tournament since a 29-point victory against Georgia Tech in the 1983 semifinals (96-67). It marks the Cavaliers’ fifth win by double figures in the ACC Tournament in the last 30 years.

  • Virginia’s senior class posted its 108th win, third most in program history
  • Virginia is 38-40 all-time against Georgia Tech, including a 5-5 record in the ACC Tournament; UVA head coach Tony Bennett is 8-2 career against Georgia Tech
  • UVA shot 53.8 percent and is 12-4 this year when breaking the 50-percent mark (8-1 against ACC opponents)
  • UVA hit on 50 percent (7-of-14) of its 3-point attempts and has hit on 50 percent of its long-range shots in 10 games this season
  • UVA forced 14 turnovers and scored 22 points off Georgia Tech turnovers (outscored GT 22-5 off turnovers)

Player Notes

  • With 1,713 career points, Brogdon moved past Joe Harris (1,698 points, 2011-14) for 11th on Virginia’s all-time scoring list
  • Brogdon scored Virginia’s final 10 points of the first half
  • Brogdon’s 26-point effort was his most in a postseason game, topping his 25-point game in the 2015 ACC Tournament semifinals against North Carolina
  • Brogdon’s 26 points is the most by a UVA player in an ACC Tournament game since Sean Singletary recorded 29 points against North Carolina in the 2006 quarterfinals
  • London Perrantes dished out eight assists, matching his second most of the season
  • Perrantes now has 419 career assists, matching Jontel Evans (2010-13) for eighth in program history
