CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Four members of the Virginia rowing program were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athletes, the CRCA announced last week.

Adi Hendlin (Tallahassee, Fla.), Jane Hudson (Sandy, Utah), Sophie Pennoyer (Hartford, Conn.) and Lizzie Trull (Wellesley, Mass.) were honored as CRCA National Scholar-Athletes.

Hudson and Pennoyer rowed on the ACC champion Varsity Eight, which also finished seventh at the NCAA Championships. Hendlin was the coxswain of the ACC champion Second Varsity Eight, which earned a bronze medal at the NCAA Championships. Trull was the stroke of the ACC champion Varsity Four that was named ACC Crew of the Year.

To be eligible for the CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honor, student-athletes were required to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be in their second, third or fourth year of eligibility and rowed in her institution’s NCAA or IRA eligible boat for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or race in a conference regatta.
