Ell, Lucas Named to NFHCA Senior Game Roster

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia field hockey seniors Greta Ell (Plains, Pa.) and Carrera Lucas (Brooklandville, Md.) have been selected to compete in the 2018 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game.

Ell and Lucas are among the 38 seniors who have been selected to participate in the game.

Annually, the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game features the top senior players in the nation. Selected seniors are given the opportunity to represent their institution while competing against their peers. This year, the Division I Senior Game will take place in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, taking place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 following the conclusion of the NCAA semifinal games at the University of Louisville’s Trager Stadium.

Ell, a midfielder, was the lone freshman in the starting lineup of her first collegiate game, and has gone on to appear in 77 games with 63 starts. She has scored 24 goals, including 13 last season, and has five assists for 53 career points. Last season, she ranked sixth in the ACC in goals per game and was voted to the VaSID All-State second team and is one of the team’s co-captains this season.
 
Lucas, the Cavaliers’ goalkeeper, has twice been named to the NFHCA All-South Region second team and was ranked second in the ACC in saves per game during her sophomore season. She has appeared in 72 games with 41 starts, making over 300 saves with ten shutouts. She has been named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad four times.
