No. 8 Virginia Wins 7-2 against No. 11 Dartmouth
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia men’s squash team (3-4) picked up a 7-2 win against No. 11 Dartmouth (0-2) on Friday (Dec. 3) at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cavaliers built up a 7-0 lead before the Big Green closed out victories on the final two courts.
Junior Omar El Torkey had the most dominant victory of the day. He opened the match with a tone-setting 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 win at position 2 against Jack Bell. Senior Will Holey, junior Cullen Little, sophomore Taha Dinana and freshman CJ Baldini also won their matches in three games. Sophomore Myles McIntyre battled through five games at position six, pulling out am 11-9, 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9 victory.
NOTES
- Aly Hussein and Omar El Torkey both improved to 6-1 this season
- This was UVA’s sixth-straight match against an Ivy League opponent
ON THE HORIZON
- Virginia will then play a pair of conference matches, taking on No. 13 MIT (4-3, 0-0 MASC) on Saturday, Dec. 4 at noon and No. 16 Franklin & Marshall (1-4, 1-0 MASC) on Sunday at 11 a.m.
