Virginia Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2022 Schedule
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s lacrosse team released its 2022 schedule which features 11 home games at Klöckner Stadium, head coach Julie Myers announced on Wednesday (Jan. 5).

“We are really looking forward to getting the 2022 season started,” head coach Julie Myers said. “We have scheduled some of the top teams in the country in non-conference action, along with the always tough ACC slate, which adds Pitt for its inaugural season. Of our 16 games, eight will be against NCAA Championship teams from last season. It will be a great challenge for us and we are excited to host 11 games at Klöckner.”
Virginia’s 16-game schedule will include 11 home games, with five in February and four in March. The Cavaliers will play eight ACC games with Pitt’s program in its first season.
The Cavaliers open 2022 on the road at Elon on February 11 before hosting the rest of their February games at Klöckner. UVA’s home slate begins with California on Feb. 13. UVA also hosts Maryland (Feb. 18), Princeton (Feb. 20), Boston College (Feb. 23), Stanford (Feb. 27), Richmond (March 9), Syracuse (March 12), Pitt (March 18), James Madison (March 20), VCU (April 6) and North Carolina (April 14).
Along with the season opener, Virginia’s road games include Notre Dame (March 6), Louisville (March 26), Duke (April 2) and Virginia Tech (April 21).
The 2022 ACC Championships will begin with the No. 8/No. 9 game (April 27), Quarterfinals (April 29) and Semifinals (May 1) hosted by Notre Dame, with the championship game (May 7) to be contested at the higher seed’s campus site.
Virginia returns 20 letterwinners that saw action in 2021, including eight of the top 10 scorers from last season. Senior Annie Dyson, a Top 25 Tewaaraton Award nominee and IWLCA All-Region selection, returns after scoring 35 points and leading the team with 56 draw controls. Sophomore Mackenzie Hoeg and Maggie Bostain return after being named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. Redshirt senior Ashlyn McGovern, UVA’s leading scorer, returns after scoring 38 goals in 2021.
