Lananna Announces Accepted Entries to Virginia Invitational
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Vin Lananna, announced Friday (July 14) the list of accepted entries to the Virginia Invitational set to be run on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Panorama Farms.
The first of three meets to be held at Panorama Farms in 2023, including the NCAA Championships (Nov. 18), the Virginia Invitational features a deep field of the nation’s top talent as 23 men’s and women’s teams make the trip to Charlottesville.
The men’s field features 16 teams that competed at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships, including the reigning champion NAU Lumberjacks. Individual representatives from five more teams appeared at the NCAA Championships a season ago.
On the women’s side, 12 of the teams accepted to the Virginia Invitational competed at the 2022 NCAA Championships while four teams sent individual representatives.
