Dylan Dietrich Named ACC Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia first-year Dylan Dietrich has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (Jan. 30) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Dietrich went 2-0 in singles during ITA Kickoff Weekend. He played at No. 1 in the opener against Northern Arizona, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 win against Dominik Buzonics. In the final, he pulled out a 7-0 win in his second-set tiebreaker against Jiri Jenicek of FAU to pick up a win on the No. 2 court.

This is the third straight weekly honor for a Cavalier after James Hopper was named the ACC Player of the Week on Jan. 16, and Chris Rodesch and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg were honored last week (Jan. 23).
