Dylan Dietrich Named ACC Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia first-year Dylan Dietrich has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (Feb. 13) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Dietrich helped the Cavaliers pick up a 4-0 victory against No. 24 Georgia in their lone match last week. He and partner Alexander Kiefer clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court three. Dietrich then logged a 6-2, 6-2 win against No. 44 Ryan Colby on the No. 2 singles court.

This is Dietrich’s second ACC Freshman of the Week honor and the fourth overall weekly honor for a Cavalier this season. James Hopper (Jan. 16) and Chris Rodesch (Jan. 23) have been named ACC Player of the Week and Rodesch and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg (Jan. 23) earned doubles team honors.
