CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (23-10) is the No. 10 seed in the Midwest Region for the NCAA Tournament.

UVA will make its 26th overall NCAA Tournament appearance and plays No. 10 seed Colorado State (24-10) in a First Four game on Tuesday, March 19, at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. Tipoff time and television designation is still to be announced.

The winner of the Virginia-Colorado State game will meet No. 7 seed Texas (20-12) in the first round on Thursday, March 21.

This is Virginia’s 10th NCAA Tournament appearance under three-time National and four-time ACC Coach of the Year Tony Bennett. The 2019 NCAA champion Cavaliers have compiled a record of 35-24 in 25 NCAA tournaments. Virginia went 35-3 en route to the 2019 NCAA championship. UVA also advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 1981 and 1984.

Ticket Information

The NCAA has provided a limited number of tickets to schools participating in the NCAA Tournament. As a result, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through the NCAA as only a few Virginia Athletics Foundation donors will have the opportunity to request tickets from the Virginia Athletics ticket office in UVA’s block.

For the First Four in Dayton, all fans are encouraged to purchase through the NCAA as there are no tickets available through the athletic department. For the first and second-round games, a limited number of VAF donors will be eligible to request tickets for NCAA Tournament out of Virginia’s allotment online at VirginiaSports.com on Sunday, March 17.  Eligible donors will be notified via email when they can place their request. Tickets may also be requested by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821 on Monday, March 18 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The deadline to request tickets is Monday, March 18 at 5 p.m.

Requests for the limited number of seats will be filled according to Virginia Athletics Foundation priority points order. Donors who place a request will be notified by email Wednesday the status of their request. All tickets for the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament will be delivered electronically.
