CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia senior Iñaki Montes has been named the ACC Player of the Week while also earning the ACC Doubles Team of the Week accolade alongside grad student James Hopper in honors announced Tuesday (March 19) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Montes went 2-0 in both doubles and singles, picking up three ranked wins in the Cavaliers’ victories against Louisville and Notre Dame. He and Hopper topped No. 11 Sebastian Dominko and Jean-Marc Malkowski on Sunday to help secure Sunday’s doubles point against the Irish. They clinched the doubles point on Friday against Louisville in UVA’s 7-0 match against the Cardinals.

Montes grabbed two ranked wins in singles, topping No. 33 Etienne Donnet and No. 34 Sebastian Dominko, both in straight sets.

These are Virginia’s 10th and 11th overall weekly honor this season. It is the second Player of the Week honor this season for Montes and the fifth of his career. This is Hopper’s second conference accolade, as he was named the conference’s first Player of the Week this season.
