Record 29 Cavaliers Earn ACC All-Academic Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A program-record 29 Virginia men’s lacrosse student-athletes have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference office announced Wednesday (June 19).
Defenseman Cole Kastner and attackman Connor Shellenberger became two of only six players in program history to be named four-time selections.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
Beginning in 2022-23, the ACC revised its academic and athletic requirements for the league’s All-ACC Academic Team. The award began in 2005-06.
