DURHAM, N.C. — The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field program continued competition at the Duke Invitational at Morris Williams Track & Field Stadium in Durham, N.C. on Friday (April 10) as Charlotta Sandkulla broke her own school record in the women's hammer throw.
Charlotta's Program Record
- Charlotta Sandkulla continued her dominant freshman season throwing a new personal best to break her own school record in the women's hammer throw.
- On her fourth throw of the competition, Sandkulla launched one out 67.31m/220-10 to better her previous best mark of 66.02m/216-7 set two weeks ago at the 2026 Raleigh Relays.
- Sandkulla also owns the indoor weight throw record at 20.48m (67’ 2.50”).

In the Field...
- Jeremiah Nubbe won the men's hammer throw with his fifth round mark of 70.11m/230-0.
- Not far behind Nubbe was Cale Ayers in third place with his six round mark of 64.45m/211-5.
- Aixa Corbacho (61.00m/200-1) and Bree Lumpkin (60.68m/199-1) finished third and fourth in the women's hammer throw. Corbacho's mark was a personal best and bettered her Virginia No. 6 all-time and freshman No. 3 mark in program history.
- Finishing in ninth place in the women's hammer, Theresa Breckley threw a new personal best of 54.04m/177-3 on her second apperance in the ring.
- Janae Profit won the women's discus competition with her fifth-round mark and new personal best of 53.40m/175-2. She bettered her Virginia No. 6 all-time mark.
- Suzie Kennelly finished fourth in the women's discus with her sixth and final throw of 48.38m/158-9.
- Recording her second personal best of the day, Theresa Breckley threw for 45.57m/149-6 on her second attempt to finish eighth in the women's discus.
On the Track...
- Jacob Garnett clocked a new personal best of 10.70 in the men's 100-meter dash prelims.
- Maya Rollins and Ava Rice finished 10th and 11th in the women's 100-meter hurdles preliminary clocking 13.75 (+1.1) and 13.79 (-0.8) respectively.
- Ma'Khi Falkquay and Kaela Swift competed in the women's 100-meter dash prelims clocking 11.85 (+3.0) and 12.56 (+1.1).
