• Hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th to give UVA a 5-4 win over Wichita State in the opening game of Jax College Classic on Feb. 23
• On April 4 against then-No. 10 North Carolina, Ford mashed three homers in one game, including a grand slam, game-tying shot and go-ahead blast in a 14-11 come-from-behind UVA victory. It marked the first three home run game by a Cavalier since Dan Street in 2002 and only the fifth time in program history that a player has hit three home runs in a single game.
• Ford is the fourth Cavalier freshman to hit 10 or more home runs in a season since 2004, joining UVA Baseball Hall of Famers Mark Reynolds (15 in 2002), Sean Doolittle (11 in 2005) and Steven Proscia (10 in 2009).
• No. 41 on D1Baseball’s Preseason Top-50 First Baseman list, the only freshman included on the list.
• Named to the 2023-24 ACC Honor Roll.
SUMMER 2023: Played for the Charlottesville Tom Sox of the Valley League alongside future UVA teammates Aidan Teel and Jacob Ference … helped the Tom Sox to a 32-20 overall record and an eventual an appearance in the VBL Championship Series … appeared in 35 games and made 33 starts … led team in batting average (.316), slugging percentage (.588), RBI (24, tied), doubles (10), home runs (7), and total bases (67) … his seven home runs were a single-season club record … over final 11 games, collected 16 hits (.421), 13 runs, 10 RBI, four doubles, and six home runs … went 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, double, and two home runs to force deciding game three in playoffs against Strasburg (August 1).

• Played his first two seasons of high school baseball at St. Anne’s-Belfield in Charlottesville before transferring to the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., same high school as Henry Godbout.
• Named a 2023 Collegiate Baseball Newspaper First Team All-American.
• Two time All-State, All-Region selection and was named the D2 East Region Hitter of the Year.
• As a senior at Baylor, hit .439 with 30 runs, 36 RBI, and 14 home runs.
• As a junior, hit .422 and scored 30 runs, drove in 32, and hit 13 long balls.
• Ranked the #19 overall prospect in Virginia and #4 shortstop by Perfect Game.
PERSONAL

• Son of Ryan and Christy Ford.
• Has two sisters, Tulip and Ruby.
• Played Little League baseball for McIntire Little League
• His father Ryan was a pitcher at William & Mary. His uncle Kevin played third base at Virginia from 1993-96.
• Has yet to declare a major at UVA.
