• Tied school record by scoring 5 runs vs. Hofstra on Feb. 17. Only the 12th Cavalier ever to score five times in a game and was the first since Max Cotier scored five runs against UMass Lowell on March 10, 2020
• Named to the 2023-24 ACC Honor Roll.
SUMMER 2023: Played 13 games for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the Northwoods League from June 29 through July 14 … was 8-for-35 (.229) with a double and two RBI at the plate.
2023
• Appeared in 26 games as a true freshman and made seven starts, all at second base. UVA went 6-1 in his seven starts.
• At the plate was 16-for-45 (.356) with three doubles and nine RBI.
• As a pinch-hitter collected five hits and 11 at bats (.455), second-most pinch hits on the team.
• Doubled in his first collegiate at bat in the season opener against Navy. Had a hit in seven of his first 13 collegiate at bats.
• Had a hit in each of his first four collegiate games.
• Put forth three multi-hit efforts (Longwood – 2/21; William & Mary – 3/7 & James Madison – 5/3)
• After a pinch-hit RBI single on March 26 against Florida State, made a stellar defensive play at shortstop, one of his 25 assists on the season.
SUMMER 2022: Played 31 games for the Auburn DoubleDays of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League … batted .290 (27-for-93) with five doubles, a triple, a home run and 12 RBI … tied for second on the team in doubles and third on the team with 20 runs scored … DoubleDays were one of seven teams in the league to make the playoffs … Hanson went 2-for-4 and drove in the team’s only run in one-game playoff against Utica.
LAFAYETTE HIGH SCHOOL
• Played baseball and football at Lafayette, serving as a two-year captain in each sport
• Won the 2019 VHSL Class 4 State Championship in baseball and the 2020 VHSL Class 3 State Championship in football
• Named the 2020-21 757 Male Athlete of the Year
• Was 25-5 as Lafayette’s starting QB (2019-2021)
• Recipient of the 2021-22 Gordy Tutman Award (Lafayette’s award for most outstanding student-athlete of the year)
• No. 4 shortstop and the No. 14 player overall in the Commonwealth of Virginia according to Perfect Game.
