Landon Martin

TitleAssistant Offensive Line Coach

Martin joined the Virginia football staff as an assistant offensive line coach in February of 2026. He came to Charlottesville after serving as the offensive line at Charleston Southern in 2025.

 

Prior to his hiring at CSU, he was the offensive line coach, run-game coordinator, assistant head coach and associate director of strength and conditioning at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn. The Wildcats were the 2024 state runner-up with an 11-3 overall record.
 
Three offensive linemen at BGA earned All-Region honors and another was selected to participate in the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) East-West All-Star game. The 2024 Wildcats amassed nearly 6000 yards of total offense and eclipsed 2400 on the ground.
 
Martin has extensive coaching ties to the state of South Carolina. He was at his alma mater, Newberry College for four seasons from 2021-2023, including the 2021 spring COVID season, helping them to claim back-to-back South Atlantic Conference Championships in his second and third years there. He helped in the development of eight offensive linemen who earned all-conference honors. During each of these seasons the team's rushing attack ranked within the top three in their conference.
 
He got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at the University of South Carolina in 2016. He spent a total of five seasons there serving as an offensive analyst and assistant offensive line coach following the completion of his graduate degree in 2018.
 
He has assisted in the development of six different future NFL linemen at South Carolina including Corey Helms (2018 free agent), Alan Knott (2018 free agent), Dennis Daley (2019 sixth round), Zack Bailey (2019 free agent), Blake Camper (2019 free agent), and Donell Stanley (2020 free agent).
 
Martin earned a bachelor's degree in physical education / leisure services from Newberry in 2016. He played football for the Wolves from 2011-2015, where he was a three-year starter at right tackle and served as a Captain in 2014 and 2015. He was a two-time All-Conference selection and was named All-ECAC, D2CCA All-Super Region II, and Don Hansen's All-Super Region II. Martin was key piece to a pair of teams that made the NCAA Division II playoffs (2013 & 2015).
 
Landon is married to Callahan Taylor Martin, and the couple has two daughters, Charleston Elle and Oakley Martin.
