Virginia Team Notes
• Four Cavaliers made their collegiate debuts: Andrew Brown**, Jamil Kamara**, Jack English and Kirk Garner. ** – denotes true freshman
• Virginia snapped a 10-game losing streak that began on Sept. 28, 2013 at Pitt.
• The Cavaliers led at the half for the first time in seven games dating back to last season
• Virginia has a 10-game winning streak vs. Richmond and is 28-2-2 all-time vs. the Spiders
• Virginia head coach Mike London is 3-0 all-time vs. his alma mater Richmond
• The Cavaliers improved to 11-8 in non-conference action under London
• Virginia has nine takeaways this season for 31 points, while the Cavaliers had 21 takeaways for 13 points last season
• The Cavaliers defense has yielded two offensive touchdowns through their first two games for the first time since the 1998 season (allowed two vs. Maryland in second game after shutting out Auburn in the first game)

Virginia Offensive Player Notes
• Greyson Lambert made his second straight collegiate start and went 13-for-15 for 102 yards and one touchdown
• Lambert had a career-long 29-yard touchdown pass to Canaan Severin
• Matt Johns saw action at quarterback for the second straight week and went 4-for-7 for 65 yards, one touchdown and one interception
• Johns had a career-long 45-yard pass to Darius Jennings
• David Watford saw action at quarterback for the first time this season after starting all 12 games for Virginia last season
• Canaan Severin tallied his first two career touchdown receptions, a 4-yarder from Johns and a 29-yarder from Lambert
• Severin has seven receptions this season (88 yards) after entering the season with six career catches (46 yards) over his first two seasons
• Kevin Parks led UVa with 52 rushing yards on 13 attempts
• Parks ranks seventh all-time at UVa with 26 career rushing touchdowns
• Parks extended his reception streak to 13 games
• Taquan Mizzell had a career-long 39-yard kickoff return, extended his reception streak to 11 games and scored his third career touchdown
• Darius Jennings 86-yard kickoff return marked a career long and is the 14th longest return in UVa history
• Jennings had a career-high 209 all-purpose yards (130 kick return yards, 79 receiving yards)
• Jennings extended his reception streak to seven games and led UVa with 79 receiving yards
• Jamil Kamara had his first career reception in his collegiate debut
• Rob Burns had a career-long 3-yard reception in the first quarter
Virginia Defensive Player Notes
• Daquan Romero had his first career interception, marking the first Virginia interception by a linebacker since Darnell Carter in 2010 (at Georgia Tech)
• Romero matched a career high with a team-high 12 tackles
• Eli Harold scored his first career touchdown, a 22-yard fumble return in the third quarter
• Harold’s 22-yard fumble return touchdown was Virginia’s since Brent Urban’s 16-yarder in 2012 (at Virginia Tech)
• Harold had his fourth career forced fumble on his second quarter sack
• Quin Blanding had his first career interception, added seven tackles and a pair of pass break-ups
• Henry Coley had his third career forced fumble
• Brandon Phelps had his second career fumble recovery
• Max Valles recorded his second career fumble recovery and second career forced fumble
• Tim Harris had his first career interception
• Trent Corney had his first fumble recovery
• Divonte Walker had a career-best six tackles
Richmond Postgame Notes
Team Notes
– For the game, Richmond out-gained Virginia, 432-363, in total yards and 363-173 in yards passing. The Spiders also had 21 first downs to 17 for the Cavaliers.
– Despite trailing Virginia 14-3 at halftime, the Spiders out-gained the Cavaliers, 174-143. UR also out-passed UVa. 177-67 in the first half and had more first downs (9-8) than Virginia.
– The loss to Virginia on Saturday was only the fifth non-conference loss for the Spiders dating back to the 2009 season. Richmond is 14-5 in non-conference contests dating back to 2009.
– These two teams will be seeing a lot of each other in the near future, as Richmond and Virginia will also meet in 2016 and 2018.
Player Notes
– With his 24 completions, QB Michael Strauss now ranks third all-time in school history on the career receptions list with 499.
– With his 124 yards, WR Stephen Barnette now ranks second all-time in school history in career receiving yards with 2,677. Barnette leaped three spots in the contest from fifth to second place. The game also marked Barnette’s eighth career 100-yard receiving game.
– WR Rashad Ponder had eight receptions for 100 yards – his second career 100-yard receiving game.
– DL Justin Williamson eclipsed his game-high for tackles in the first half alone (5) and finished the game with a career-high eight stops.
– Senior LB Eric Wright tied his career-high with 12 tackles in the contest.
– DB Ayo Ogunniyi’s interception in the third quarter was the first of the season for the junior and the third pick of his career.
– True freshman LS Graham Latham recovered his first career fumble in the second quarter, while DB David Jones forced the first fumble of his career.
– Sophomore LB Omar Howard recorded his first career sack in the fourth quarter.
– Sophomore PK Peter Yoder made both of his field goals against Virginia (28, 32) and is now 4-for-4 from the season.
