No. 19 Virginia Hits The Road For Matchup At No. 4 UNC
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 19 Virginia women’s soccer team (8-2-0, 1-2-0 ACC) heads back out on the road in ACC play with a 7 p.m. contest at No. 4 North Carolina (10-1-0, 3-0-0 ACC) on Friday night (Sept. 27).

- The Cavaliers moved to No. 19 in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings following last week’s loss to No. 16 Notre Dame in a hard-fought 1-0 contest at Klöckner Stadium

- The scoring duo have nine of 22 goals and combined with a stingy defense to have the Hoos among the top 30 teams nationally in goal differential (+16) entering the weekend
- 11 different Hoos have found the net this season as the Virginia offense has been spreading the ball around early in 2024 and nine different players have assisted on those 11 goals
- Yuna McCormack brought home a bronze medal after playing with the US U20 Women’s Youth National Team in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia over the last few weeks
- Victoria Safradin ranks third in the ACC in shutouts with four solo shutouts this season so far
THE SERIES WITH NORTH CAROLINA
- Virginia and North Carolina have faced off 50 times with the Tar Heels leading the overall series 40-5-5
- North Carolina won the last meeting in Charlottesville by a score of 1-0 in the 2023 season
- All five wins in the series by the Hoos have come on the road or in a neutral-site contest
- UVA is 4-17-1 in Chapel Hill, but 1-0-1 at Dorrance Field that includes a 3-2 win in the 2022 season
