2012 – One of 11 Cavaliers to start all 12 games … made 25 tackles and 4.0 tackles for a loss … made one tackle against Richmond and Penn State … made two tackles at Georgia Tech and four at TCU … had four tackles and recovered a fumble against Maryland … had a sack that resulted in a safety at NC State … finished career with three tackles at Virginia Tech. 2011 – Appeared in all 13 games … made first collegiate start against Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl … 7.0 tackles for a loss of 24 yards … only Cavalier to register at least one TFL in each of the first five games … pass break-up at Maryland … had a career-high six tackles against Southern Miss … tallied his second career sack at Indiana … forced a fumble against Southern Miss. 2010 – Played in 11 of Virginia[apos]s 12 games … did not play at USC … lined up for 92 plays on defense and 49 on special teams … notched five tackles … broke up one pass and registered 1.5 sacks … registerd first career sack at Boston College … tallied a half sack of Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor in season finale … won the Cavalier Academic Achievement Award. 2009 – Played in all 12 games, mostly on special teams … lined up for 65 plays on special teams … appeared in five games on the defensive side of the ball … registered one tackle against Georgia Tech.

Enrolled at UVa in January and participated in Spring Football … strong run stuffer for coach Paul Wheeler at Lafayette HS … 3 stars by Rivals and Scout … Rivals No. 34 strongside defensive end nationally … listed as the No. 19 player in Virginia by SuperPrep, No. 22 by the Roanoke Times and No. 28 by Rivals … two-time all-state selection … region and district defensive player of the year his senior year when he finished with 92 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 14 sacks … first-team all-region, all-district and Daily Press All-Star … had 49 tackles as a junior, including 16 for loss and eight sacks … team won the district championship his sophomore and junior years … second-team all-district as a sophomore … played tight end on offense … hails from the same high school as UVa[apos]s all-time leading scorer Connor Hughes, as well as former NFL great Lawrence Taylor.
