Sports Medicine Camps

Throughout the year, the athletic programs at the University of Virginia offer various sports camps and clinics for athletes between the ages of 7 and 17. Per-diem medical coverage is coordinated by individual camp LLC’s and is mandatory for all camps and clinics held on-grounds. Any certified athletic trainer interested in working camps, please CLICK HERE to fill out our contact form. You will be included on a list of interested parties made available to coaches and camp directors. Camp directors will directly solicit athletic trainers to cover camp sessions based on camper participation numbers and facility usage. Compensation is coordinated directly between the athletic trainer and the LLC’s for each camp/clinic session.

All athletic trainers must provide documentation of current BOC certification, licensure from the Board of Medicine of the Commonwealth of Virginia, First Aid and CPR certification and proof of active personal liability insurance. Additional requirements may include a yearly background check and online Clery Act training through the Office of Youth Protection, as well as a virtual orientation from the UVA Department of Sports Medicine. Please reach out to uvacamps.sportsmed@virginia.edu should you have any additional questions regarding the medical coverage of camps.
